Overview
The Lares Valley Trek is one of the most picturesque in Cusco, and is home to many traditional weavers and farmers. You’ll visit them to see a weaving demonstration, done in the traditional method, using natural dyes and home-spun yarn. The people live day-to-day, growing what they eat and knitting what they wear.
Each day of the trek is reasonably paced with ample time to enjoy the incredible scenery. It’s a challenging trek, but the strenuous hike is amply compensated by the landscape, lunch by cascading waterfalls, and a new understanding of the reality of the Andean farmer.
1st Day: Cusco – Cuncani – Yanacocha – Sondor
Day 2: Sondor – Huacawasi C’asa Pass – Aruray Cocha – Yurak Cocha – Mantanay – Pucara
Day 3: Pucara – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
4th Day: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

- Transport from the hotel to the Lares Valley.
- Tourist train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes.
- Bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.
- Tourist train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco or from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and bus to Cusco.
- Entrance to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

- Bus going downhill from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes for $12.00USD, you can walk down, which takes about 1 hour.
