Inca Trail Availability and Requirements for 2026
Inca Trail permits are limited and issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 500 permits are issued per day. Approximately 200 are reserved for tourists, while the remainder are allocated to essential personnel, such as guides and porters. Due to this limitation, permits often need to be secured several months in advance, especially during the high season (April through September).
Inca Trail Availability in 2026: Dates and High Season
The high season for the Inca Trail spans the months of April, May, June, July, August, and September. Demand is very high during this period; booking several months in advance is recommended to guarantee your spot. The Inca Trail is closed in February for maintenance and conservation work.
