We will take day trips from Cusco to Palccoyo. It’s an alternative rainbow mountain trek to the famous Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. The tour will run for a full day. You will need to prepare for the dry season as it’s the best time to visit the mountains.
Altitude sickness may become a concern. However, we will provide tips to mitigate its effects. You will travel along dirt roads.

Our Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain full day tour will commence at 6:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we will travel approximately 110 kilometers (about 68 miles) southeast. The journey will take around three hours.
By 9:00 a.m., we will reach the starting point of our trek. Before we begin, you will receive a short briefing about the trek’s details. We will remind you about altitude sickness. Our guides will be there to help if you feel unwell.
At around 9:30 a.m., our trek to the Rainbow Mountain will begin. You will walk approximately 1 kilometer (0.6 miles), an easy trek for all ages. This trek will take about 45 minutes. You will see the Palccoyo mountain range during the trek.
At 10:15 a.m., we will reach the view point of the Rainbow Mountain. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the colourful mountains. You will be free to take stunning photographs.
Following that, we will walk to the stone forest. You will arrive at this fascinating geological formation around 11:00 a.m.
At 12:00 p.m., lunch will be ready for you. You will eat while enjoying the beautiful mountain ranges.
At 1:00 p.m., we will make our way back to the parking lot. From there, we will drive to the Red Valley. You will see a distinct contrast of the red mountain against the blue sky.
We will depart from the Red Valley at around 2:30 p.m. You will return to your hotel in Cusco by 5:30 p.m.
